According to English journalist Ben Jacobs, Spanish international Rodri, Manchester City midfielder, has revealed his stance on moving to the royal club during the current transfer window.
Jacobs mentioned that Rodri has already made clear to Manchester City officials his desire to join Real Madrid, for both sporting and family reasons, indicating that the English club's management is preparing to receive an official offer, despite its insistence on keeping the player.
He added that the Spanish star is not expected to sign a new contract with City, as Rodri prioritizes a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid's interest in signing Rodri increased after his outstanding performances during the 2026 World Cup, where he was one of the most prominent elements of the title-winning Spanish national team, thanks to his ability to set the tempo, intercept balls, and build attacks.
Rodri is under contract with Manchester City until summer 2027, while he is viewed within Los Merengues as the ideal option to strengthen the midfield.
