Media reports have revealed the date when Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa, of Real Mallorca, will join the Al-Nassr camp, after nearing a formal signing.

Media reports had previously revealed that Al-Nassr is close to signing Samu Costa during the current summer transfer window, to be a replacement for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who left after the end of last season.

The Saudi newspaper 'Al-Riyadiya' reported that the Portuguese midfielder has already said goodbye to his teammates at Real Mallorca, after completing his transfer to Al-Nassr.

The newspaper clarified that Samu Costa will join Al-Nassr's camp in Portugal in the coming days, to begin preparations for the new season under the leadership of Australian coach Ange Postecoglou.

Samu Costa will be the first signing made by Al-Nassr during the current summer transfer window, as the club has not signed any player yet due to the financial crisis it is experiencing.

Samu Costa has a distinguished career, spending most of it in Spain, where he played for Almería between 2020 and 2023, before moving to Real Mallorca, where he currently plays.

On the international level, Costa began his journey with the Portuguese national team alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in October 2024, but has only played 7 matches with him.

The 25-year-old was called up to participate with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, but he only played in one match as a substitute for 20 minutes, during a goalless draw with Colombia in the third round of the group stage.
