Sakaka House of Culture launches chess training program
The Sakaka House of Culture launched a training program titled 'From Chess Basics to Continuous Development,' coinciding with the celebration of World Chess Day, with the aim of spreading the culture of the game and raising awareness of its mental and sports importance among different segments of society.
The workshop targets all levels, from beginners to players with an international rating of up to 1700 points, and is presented by internationally certified chess coach Abdulmohsen Al-Shaye.
The training program includes a number of specialized topics, including an introduction to chess and types of games, basics of play, stages of the game consisting of opening, middle game, and endgame, along with tactics and strategy, the unconscious mind in chess, and advanced topics, in addition to providing a set of tips, references, and specialized books that contribute to developing players' levels.
The workshop aims to highlight the status of the game as one of the most prominent mental sports with global reach, and the attention it receives at both international and local levels through various competitive tournaments including classical, rapid, and blitz chess.
The workshop will be held daily from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM from July 15 to July 19, in the training hall of the Sakaka House of Culture Library, with free participation available for those wishing to develop their skills in the game.
