The Saudi youth handball team (under 20) secured its qualification to the quarterfinals of the 19th Asian Championship being held in the People's Republic of China from July 15 to 26, after achieving its third consecutive victory, following its win today Sunday over Chinese Taipei with a score of (46-29) in the group stage.

The Green youth delivered an outstanding performance, imposing their control over the match proceedings, continuing their winning streak and officially securing the ticket to the quarterfinals before the last two rounds of the group stage. Saudi player Abdullah Al-Saadoun won the Man of the Match award for his impressive level.

The Saudi team had opened its campaign in the championship with a win over Oman with a score of (40-27), and player Ahmed Al-Obeidi won the Man of the Match award, before achieving its second victory over Bahrain with a score of (30-26), where goalkeeper Salman Al-Ma'eeni was awarded the Man of the Match award.

The Saudi team continues its group stage matches tomorrow, Monday, July 20, facing the host Chinese team at 9:00 AM Saudi Arabia time, in a match it aims to continue its victories and maintain the lead.

The championship is held with the participation of 12 Asian teams divided into two groups, where the top four teams from each group qualify for the quarterfinals, before completing the competition for the title, while the top four teams in the championship earn qualification tickets to the 2027 World Youth Handball Championship.
