Dutch rider Olav Kooij claimed his first Tour de France stage win on Wednesday, outkicking his rivals in the final sprint to take stage 5 after a late crash disrupted the main peloton in the final kilometers. The Team Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale rider crossed the line ahead of German Max Kanter (XDS Astana), while Belgian Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) finished third at the end of the 158.3 km stage from Lanemezan to Pau.
