Sealed: Paris Saint-Germain Triggers Release Clause for French Star
Paris Saint-Germain has secured the signing of one of the stars of the French national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Lucas Digne is the starting left-back for the French national team in most World Cup matches, outperforming Theo Hernandez, the star of Saudi Al-Hilal.
Fabrizio Romano, transfer market expert, wrote on his X account: "Lucas Digne will move to Paris Saint-Germain... It's done! A verbal agreement has been reached with the French left-back."
Romano added: "PSG has informed Aston Villa that they will pay the release clause in Digne's contract, which is less than €10 million, after the World Cup."
The transfer expert concluded: "Digne has agreed to play a backup role to Nuno Mendes at Paris Saint-Germain."
