Sports / Amir of Al-Qassim Receives Director of Ministry of Sports Branch, Reviews Achievements of Region's Knights in International Forums

Buraidah, Safar 5, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 19, 2026 (SPA) – His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, received today in his office the Director of the Ministry of Sports Branch in the region, Hadlaq Al-Hadlaq, accompanied by the Supervisor of the Sports and Horse Stables Secretariat at Al-Qassim Emirate, Dr. Mohammed Al-Omari. During the meeting, His Highness reviewed the most prominent achievements of Al-Qassim region's knights in endurance and stamina competitions at both regional and international levels, and their honorable results that reflect the development of equestrian sports in the region, as well as the efforts made to support this sport and enhance its presence. The meeting also reviewed the achievement of knight Abdullah Al-Umairi, who won first place in the King of Spain Cup endurance race over 120 km, becoming the first Arab knight to win this title, in addition to his top ranking in the international points classification among the Kingdom's knights. The Governor of Al-Qassim Region also reviewed the achievements of knight Khaled Al-Zwaid, who won third place in the Sanlúcar International Endurance Race in Spain over 100 km, and also won first place in the Eskisehir International Junior Endurance Race in Turkey over 100 km, in addition to his international participations in which he achieved advanced positions in many tournaments. The Governor of Al-Qassim Region praised the honorable achievements of the region's knights, affirming that these successes embody the support and attention that the sports sector receives from the wise leadership — may God support them — and contribute to enhancing the Kingdom's presence in international forums, wishing the knights continued success and more achievements that raise the nation's flag.
