Dan Ndoye criticized the refereeing performance after Switzerland's 3-1 extra-time loss to Argentina in the World Cup quarterfinal, insisting that his team did not receive fair treatment from the referee.

The controversy centered on the sending off of Breel Embolo in the 78th minute. After the referee initially booked Leandro Paredes, VAR intervened and determined that Embolo had dived, overturning the decision and instead giving the Swiss striker a second yellow card.

Ndoye, speaking among a group of angry Swiss players and officials, said: 'It's a decision I see for the first time in football. It's hard to accept. There was no foul. For it to go from a yellow card for them to a yellow card for us, especially with all the simulation that happened before... There was a lot of acting from their side.'

He added: 'Tonight, there were two types of refereeing: one for them and one for us. It's hard to accept.'

Switzerland coach Murat Yakin also questioned the decision, saying he did not understand why Embolo was sent off and confirmed that the striker was 'completely devastated' after the match.
