Tebas: Refereeing Won't Defeat Spain in World Cup Final... And We Must Abandon Childish Behavior
Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish La Liga, expressed confidence in the Spanish national team's ability to win the World Cup when they face Argentina in the final scheduled for Sunday.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Tebas said during an event held in "Little Spain" in New York City on the occasion of the World Cup final: "We await the match with excitement. If we play the way we know how, then refereeing won't matter, and the referee will pass without attracting attention."
Tebas asserted that Spain's match against France was exceptional, saying: "I don't know if the history of the World Cup has seen or will see a match like Spain vs. France. I watched it more than once, and I replayed many moments, such as Pedro Porro's goal. We won't see anything similar."
Tebas revealed his prediction for the final result, confirming that the Spanish national team will win "by more than one goal," while also praising the importance of logic in restoring good relations between La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation.
He added: "The key is logic. When logic prevails, understanding becomes easy. There must be dialogue, and when logic is present, everything becomes easier. We must abandon positions of constant rejection, as children do."
