The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has dedicated a prize, to be presented for the first time to the World Cup champions, which is a gold ring during the coronation ceremony, in addition to the gold medals and the cup. The New York New Jersey Stadium will host next Sunday the 2026 World Cup final between the defending champion Argentina and Spain, the only title holder in 2010 in South Africa. This step aims to transfer one of the most prominent American sports traditions to the world of international football, according to FIFA's official website, which explained that a limited and numbered set will be released, comprising 2026 rings, of which 30 will be allocated to the winners, while 1996 will be available to fans around the world through the official store. The shape of the tournament cup will appear on one side of the ring, while the other side will be dedicated to reflecting the identity of the winning team. Each ring will be individually numbered, designed to fit its owner, and accompanied by a special certificate of authenticity. Immediately after the title-deciding match, the winning team captain and his head coach will receive two temporary rings in commemoration of the occasion. Later, the rest of the rings will be customized for each of the winners before being officially presented at a later date to ensure a perfect fit that lasts a lifetime for an achievement that will resonate forever.
