Traveler covers nearly 5,000 km to Al-Hilal camp
An Al-Hilal fan from Al-Ahsa drove his four-wheel-drive car through six countries from Saudi Arabia to Austria to reach the team's training camp.
A fan of Al-Hilal club from Al-Ahsa crossed six countries between Saudi Arabia and Austria with his four-wheel-drive 'Shaas' car to reach the team's residence, according to his statement to Al-Hilal club's media channels.
The distance covered by that traveler is estimated at nearly 5,000 kilometers, starting from Al-Ahsa (eastern Saudi Arabia) to Kuwait, passing through Iraq to Turkey, then to Bulgaria.
He continued his journey afterwards to Romania, then to Hungary, and then to Austria, and from its capital Vienna to Stegersbach (Burgenland state, Austria) where Al-Hilal's camp is located.
Al-Hilal ranked 14th among the 18 Saudi Roshn League teams in launching the external camp in preparation for the new season.
Al-Hilal's camp began in mid-July and will continue until the 4th of next August.
Before that, Al-Hilal started its training at the beginning of this month. The club was ahead of all competitors in announcing its preparatory external destination to Austria.
The Al-Hilal fan who came to the Austria camp commits to repeating the seasonal external preparations once every few years.
The fan, named Saleh Al-Jaber, said he has loved Al-Hilal since an early age, when he was five years old, noting that he has traveled to Al-Hilal's external camps in Europe about five times previously over roughly 15 years.
The Al-Hilal traveler did not specify the exact year of his first visit to Al-Hilal's camp; but he said he was present at the friendly match between Al-Hilal and Manchester City, referring to the match that took place in 2012. That match ended 1-0 for Al-Hilal with a goal by Nawaf Al-Abed.
Al-Jaber attributed his repeated visits to Al-Hilal's external camps to his love and passion for the team and his desire to see the team and its stars up close, affirming that he will continue these visits, which are also fueled by his love for travel and wandering.
