The Saudi women's U-17 national team (women's football) has been placed in Group Two of the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers, alongside teams from Indonesia, Bahrain, and hosts Singapore, following a draw held today (Thursday) at the Asian Football Confederation headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the participation of 30 Asian teams.

The group matches will be held from October 5 to 11, 2026, with the group winners advancing to the finals scheduled in China in 2027.

This is the second participation for the Saudi U-17 women's team in the continental qualifiers, having made its debut in the 2026 edition, where the Kingdom hosted the group matches in Al-Khobar. The team delivered notable performances, achieving a big win against Kuwait 11-0, drawing with Lebanon 2-2, before losing to Iran 2-0, finishing third in the group with 4 points.

The Director of Women's Football at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Alia Al-Rashid, affirmed that the team's second participation in the Asian qualifiers reflects the rapid development of women's football in the Kingdom, noting that the first experience contributed to building important experience for the players and technical staff.

Al-Rashid said: "We are proud of the U-17 team's participation in the Asian qualifiers for the second time, as it is the fruit of continuous work to develop age groups and provide opportunities for players to compete internationally. We look forward to the players showcasing levels that reflect the development of women's football, and that this participation is an extension of the journey of preparing a promising generation."
