The future of young Ivorian winger Yan Diomande continues to stir debate, amid growing interest from top European clubs in signing him during the ongoing summer transfer window, despite Leipzig's insistence on keeping him.

In this regard, German newspaper 'Bild' reported on Thursday that the regular leave taken by Diomande (19) after his participation in the 2026 World Cup has ended, and he is expected to return to Leipzig training next week, before the team's camp in Austria begins, although the club has not set a precise date for his return.

The newspaper added that Leipzig previously rejected an offer from Liverpool worth €100 million, while the player was participating in the World Cup, taking advantage of Diomande's contract that runs until summer 2030, with no release clause.

It pointed out that Liverpool is no longer the only club wanting to sign the player, as Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain have also shown willingness to pay €100 million.

Diomande also reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain on a contract extending until 2031, but the French club has not yet submitted an official offer to Leipzig.

Pressure on Paris

According to the report, those close to the player, in collaboration with the Roc Nation agency that manages his affairs, are trying to pressure Paris Saint-Germain to speed up negotiations with Leipzig, fearing another club entering the deal.

'Bild' noted that Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was alongside Red Bull president Oliver Mintzlaff during the World Cup final in New York, providing an opportunity for talks between the two sides.

In response, Leipzig is demanding at least €120 million to agree to sell Diomande, but it has become less convinced of the possibility of keeping him for an additional season, even with the idea of loaning him again, which, according to the report, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique rejects.

The newspaper concluded by noting that 'Leipzig's management is aware of the great technical and marketing value that Diomande represents, but at the same time knows that keeping a player who does not wish to stay could negatively affect the team atmosphere, as previously happened with Xavi Simons.'
