While Kylian Mbappé and his teammates were preparing to sleep before their most important match in the World Cup, Moroccan fans were getting ready to wake them up. A Mexican tradition moved from the Round of 32 to the quarter-finals, and this time the 'Atlas Lions' took the lead, deciding to start their battle against France a full 12 hours before kickoff.

The last night of the 'Roosters' at their accommodation turned into a noisy nightmare. At 10:30 PM local time, crowds of 'Atlas Lions' fans began gathering in the streets surrounding the French team's hotel, and within minutes the area turned into a blazing carnival square.

The sounds of drums and vuvuzelas rang out nonstop, while fireworks lit up the Boston sky in successive displays, in a calculated attempt to deprive Kylian Mbappé and his teammates of any moment of calm before the decisive match. Hundreds of Moroccan fans gathered, chanting and singing passionate songs, trying to provoke the players and push them to appear at their room windows.

The French network RMC confirmed that the loud noise was clearly audible inside the players' rooms and caused significant disturbance to residents of nearby buildings.

It is worth noting that this 'annoying celebratory mix' turned into a purely Mexican hallmark at the 2026 World Cup, after Mexican fans successfully used it to disrupt the Ecuadorian team before their elimination in the Round of 32, and repeated it again in the Round of 16 against England.

Tonight, Moroccan fans decided to borrow the same psychological weapon, hoping the noise would help defeat the former world champions.
