Video.. Mostafa Shobeir chooses the best goalkeeper in Arab history
Mostafa Shobeir, goalkeeper for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, has chosen the best goalkeeper in Arab history.
Shobeir shone with the Egyptian national team in his first World Cup appearance with the Pharaohs, strongly contributing to reaching the round of 16 for the first time in the team's history.
Shobeir also excelled in the round of 16 match against Argentina, saving a penalty from Messi, before the Pharaohs eventually lost 3-2 amid Egyptian accusations that the refereeing deliberately directed the match towards an Argentina victory.
During a TV interview with journalist Amr Adib, Mostafa Shobeir said: 'Yassine Bounou, Morocco's goalkeeper, is a man of very high morals and a respectful person. He messaged me after the Argentina match.'
He added: 'I also contacted him to learn how he saves penalties while standing. In my opinion, Yassine Bounou is the best goalkeeper in Arab history.'
