Who is Younes Al-Bahraoui, the new Al-Taawoun player?
In the ancient city of Marrakech in southern Morocco, Younes Al-Bahraoui, the new player of Al-Taawoun first football team, was born on January 4, 2005, and grew up in the popular Sidi Youssef Ben Ali district, where he started playing football on nearby fields and in local leagues. Those alleys and squares were his first stops; then he participated in the Ait Boukmaz leagues in the Azilal region with a simple rural team called Ait Ziri, where the balls were made of cloth and the fields were dirt, and his talent caught attention thanks to his scoring ability and tactical intelligence. He then moved to a private academy in Marrakech linked to former player Tahar Al-Khalie, before joining the Kawkab Marrakech academy in 2021, and progressed through its age groups until he stood out with the first team. With Kawkab Marrakech, he played in the Excellence Cup matches and scored his first professional goal in February 2025 against Wydad, and contributed to the team's promotion to the first division after winning the second division title in the 2024-2025 season. He was called up to the Morocco U20 national team and contributed to the team's journey during the 2025 FIFA World Youth Championship in Chile, where he participated in victories over Brazil, Spain, and the USA, and the team reached the final and won the world title. The 21-year-old stands 180 cm tall and weighs about 70 kg, plays as a center forward preferring his right foot. During his career, he moved to RS Berkane before signing with Al-Taawoun in his first experience outside Morocco, on a three-year contract with an option to extend.
