With Hamza Abdel Karim's participation, Flick puts pressure on Barcelona stars
Hansi Flick, Barcelona's coach, increased the intensity of physical training with the start of the second week of preseason preparation, in collaboration with new fitness coach Benjamin Kögel, aiming to boost players' physical readiness.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the second session of the two scheduled for Monday, part of a program that includes three training sessions until Sunday, featured an extended workout that focused mainly on physical aspects, by decision of the German coach.
The training session involved the same group that participated in the morning session, with the addition of Uruguayan Ronald Araújo, who returned to team training after participating in the World Cup.
Also present were reserve team and youth players who started preseason with the first team since last Monday: Orian Goren, Alex González, Oscar Gistau, Hamza Abdel Karim, Ibrahim Diarra, Shane Kluivert, Ebima Tonkara, Toni Fernández, Jui Fernández, Geoffrey Torrents, Tommy Marquez, Brian Fariñas, Álvaro Cortés, Aaron Jakobishvili, Iker Rodríguez, and Xavi Espart, who in turn returned after having three days of rest following his U19 European Championship title win.
Academy player Hafiz Garima is still absent from training due to illness, but it is expected that he will recover soon and join the team's training.
