World Cup 2026: Qatar national team concludes preparations for opening match against Switzerland tomorrow
Washington, June 12 (QNA) - The Qatari national team concluded its preparations today for its first match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals against Switzerland, to be played tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 pm Doha time at San Francisco Bay Arena in the United States, as part of Group B, which also includes Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The 'Al-Annabi' held its final training session in San Francisco under the guidance of Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui, who assessed the players' readiness, with the technical staff putting the finishing touches in preparation for the World Cup opener.
Qatar, making its second World Cup appearance, will enter tomorrow's match with a full squad, as all selected players participated in today's training session, which lasted less than an hour.
The Qatari team will receive strong fan support in the stands for the anticipated match, as around 1,000 fans left Doha for the United States via an air bridge on June 9, 10, and 11.
Qatari fans currently in the United States will organize a march today on the San Francisco waterfront, starting at 4 pm local time, to motivate the players ahead of tomorrow's match against Switzerland.
