(CNN)-- FIFA President Gianni Infantino sent a message to the Morocco national team after their journey in the 2026 World Cup ended.

The "Atlas Lions" had bid farewell to the current World Cup in the quarter-finals, after losing to France by two clean goals.

Morocco beat Haiti 4-2 and Scotland 1-0, and drew 1-1 with Brazil in the group stage, then prevailed on penalties against the Netherlands in the Round of 32 and against Canada with a brace in the Round of 16.

Infantino published video clips of the Arab team, commenting: "Thank you, your journey was full of beautiful moments, and you gave your football-passionate country a lot of joy. The ten goals you scored in this tournament, the highest tally for you in a single edition, helped you become the first African country to reach the World Cup quarter-finals twice."

He added: "As always, it was our pleasure to welcome you, and we look forward to your hospitality for the tournament in 2030."
