Zamalek Delivers Good News to Its Fans Regarding the African License File
Zamalek announced good news to its fans, regarding the file of obtaining the African license, to participate in the African Champions League next season.
Zamalek won the Egyptian Premier League title last season, which qualifies it to participate in the African Champions League, but the club suffered from sanctions by FIFA due to overdue dues to former coaches and players, threatening its ability to obtain the African license.
Engineer Hisham Nasr, Vice President of Zamalek, said that the board of directors succeeded in resolving all issues related to the African license file with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), after completing the payment of dues for the required cases to fulfill the conditions for obtaining the license.
Hisham Nasr added, in statements to Zamalek's official app 'Zamalekawy' on Thursday: 'The board of directors, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, placed this file at the top of its priorities during the past period, in order to ensure Zamalek obtains the African license and participates in continental tournaments without any obstacles.'
He continued: 'We formed a committee headed by Captain Hussein Labib, the club president, which worked during the past period to provide and gather the necessary funds to complete this file entirely, and we succeeded in paying the dues of the Ukrainian club Oleksandriya, as well as the dues of player Ibrahima Ndiaye, thus closing both cases definitively with regard to the African license.'
He added: 'The two cases were extremely difficult, and we faced obstacles from external parties, but we ultimately succeeded in resolving the crisis.'
He continued: 'This achievement came after great effort by the board of directors, which ensured the fulfillment of all required obligations in this file, reflecting the club's commitment to implementing regulations and preserving Zamalek's right to participate in continental tournaments.'
Hisham Nasr concluded, affirming that the board of directors will continue working to settle all files to achieve stability for the club and support the team's journey in the upcoming phase.
