8 Reasons to Consider Buying an iPhone 11 Instead of an iPhone 11 Pro
Apple last week announced three new iPhones: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, with prices starting at $699, $999, and $1099 respectively.
Apple last week announced three new iPhones: the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, with prices starting at $699, $999, and $1099 respectively.
Surprisingly, despite the improvements and many strong specs and new features in the iPhone 11, Apple launched it at a lower price than last year's iPhone XR. While the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max entice users with Apple's latest technologies, the cheaper iPhone 11 is also an impressive phone.
Here are 8 reasons why you might consider buying the iPhone 11 instead of the new Apple Pro models:
1. The iPhone 11 is $300 cheaper than the iPhone 11 Pro:
Price is likely the biggest factor most people consider when buying, and here the iPhone 11 wins, starting at $699 for the 64GB version, so you can save at least $300.
These days, especially with the advancement of cloud storage services, many smartphone users don't need large internal storage capacities of up to 512GB, so 64GB is sufficient for most users.
2. The iPhone 11 offers more color options than the Pro models:
In terms of colors, the iPhone 11 comes in six color options: black, white, red, yellow, green, and light purple.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max come in only four colors: gray, silver, gold, and green.
3. The ideal screen size:
Below are the screen sizes of the new iPhone 11 models, from smallest to largest:
iPhone 11 Pro: 5.8-inch screen.
iPhone 11: 6.1-inch screen.
iPhone 11 Pro Max: 6.5-inch screen.
Comparing them, you'll find that the 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 11 is the best option for most users, while the Pro Max screen is large and the Pro screen is somewhat small for some people.
4. Similar rear camera systems:
The rear camera system is one of the most important features of this year's iPhone lineup. The iPhone 11 features a dual‑lens rear camera: a 12MP ultra‑wide camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 120‑degree field of view, and a 12MP wide camera with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.
These are the same cameras found in the Pro models, but the Pro models add a third 12MP telephoto lens for zoom. This lens is good only for optical zoom, which doesn't lose detail compared to digital zoom, so it's not an essential feature.
5. Identical front camera:
All iPhone 11 models this year have the same front camera: a 12MP TrueDepth camera with f/2.2 aperture, supporting Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, Portrait Lighting with six effects, and 4K video recording at 60fps. Therefore, the front camera quality on the iPhone 11 is no different from the Pro models.
6. All phones use the latest A13 Bionic chip:
This feature is one of the most important aspects of iPhones. Apple's latest and most powerful chip – featuring a CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine to make your smartphone more efficient while saving power – is the same in all new iPhones. So you won't find any performance drop if you choose the cheaper model.
It's worth noting that the A13 Bionic chip delivers the strongest performance. Here's a quick comparison with previous generations:
The A11 Bionic chip in the iPhone X could process 600 billion operations per second.
The A12 Bionic chip in last year's iPhone XS and XR could process 5 trillion operations per second.
The new A13 Bionic chip can process 8.5 trillion operations per second.
7. The iPhone 11 will have very long battery life:
Last year's iPhone XR had the best battery life of any Apple smartphone ever, lasting up to 15.5–16.5 hours of use on a single charge.
The iPhone 11's battery is expected to last an additional hour compared to the iPhone XR, meaning 16.5 to 17.5 hours of use on a single charge.
8. The same additional features:
All three new phones include the same additional features:
Water and dust resistance with IP68 rating.
Dolby Vision audio support.
Bluetooth, WiFi 6, and LTE support.
Dual‑SIM support.
Support for new photo and video features like Night mode, QuickTake, and Deep Fusion.
Support for the new U1 chip for direct AirDrop transfers.
Oleophobic coating resistant to oils and fingerprints.
