About the Gateway
The Tech Gateway (formerly the Arab Tech News Gateway) was launched in September 2005 from its headquarters in Dubai Media City, as the first official source fully dedicated to covering tech news in Arabic, both in the Arab world and globally, according to an ambitious vision to become the primary source of information technology news on the Internet for Arab media and the end user in the Arab world.
The Tech Gateway received great acclaim from visitors, who actively contributed to the site's development over the years since its launch. It also became a trusted and reliable source for many Arab media outlets, both print and broadcast, which quoted studies, research, and news from the gateway that resonated in tech circles, including: Al Arabiya.net, Maktoob News, Al-Hayat newspaper, Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Shabiba (Oman), Aalam Al-Youm (Egypt), Syria News, Al-Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Al-Eqtisadiah (Saudi Arabia), Al-Madina (Saudi Arabia), An-Nahar (Lebanon), Al-Jazeera (Saudi Arabia), in addition to other Gulf newspapers, Iqraa Channel, Al-Majd Satellite, Al-Majd Scientific, Rotana Khalijia, Alaan TV, and some Arab radio stations in Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt. After its third year, the gateway became the primary source of tech news for specialized forum sites on the Internet, which increased its popularity and reach.

The Tech Gateway has won a number of local and regional awards, including: the Bronze Award in the ‘Best Site in the UAE’ competition in the Media and Journalism category, and the ‘Best Arab Site’ award. It also qualified for the final round of the ‘Lifetime Achievement in Publishing’ competition, alongside Al Jazeera Net, AME Info, Maktoob, and the Jerusalem Center for Media and Communications.
Among the most notable awards received by the Tech Gateway website is the ‘Best Media Project in the Media and Communications Category’ of the Arab World Awards, presented by the His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award in 2009.
