Researcher: ‘Chaos’ is a fundamental risk we face with artificial intelligence
Ahmed Al-Sheikh, director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Foundation, affirmed that chaos represents the fundamental risk we are experiencing today with artificial intelligence.
These remarks come at a time when the use of artificial intelligence technologies in everyday applications is accelerating.
Sheikh continued in his intervention on 'Al Arabiya FM' that artificial intelligence companies are competing to reach a wider audience, each having the right to invest its capabilities, including Instagram, owned by Meta, which exploited its huge stock of images in 'machine learning' to use each user's photos and features identically.
He added that when requesting an image from these tools, they capture users' real photos and use them in content without permission, bypassing their right to consent to publication, as platform tools use people's images without their consent.

These practices raise questions about users' rights to privacy and data protection. They also highlight the need to develop clear regulatory frameworks governing the use of personal images in artificial intelligence applications. Experts believe that the absence of these controls increases the state of chaos that the researcher warned about.
