The Claude Sonnet 5 model has entered a new phase of competition in the artificial intelligence market, after introducing advanced capabilities in the field of intelligent agents (Agentic AI), supported by improvements in reasoning, programming, and tool use, with lower operating costs compared to higher-tier models.

The model allows tasks to be performed semi-independently, as it can plan and use web browsers, terminals, and multiple tools to accomplish complex tasks that previously required larger and more expensive models. It also became the default option for users of free and paid plans, as part of a pricing policy aimed at enhancing its competitiveness in the market.

Test results showed a noticeable improvement compared to the previous version, especially in agent-based programming, reasoning, and completing cognitive tasks, with performance approaching that of leading higher-cost models.

On the security side, Claude Sonnet 5 includes updates aimed at reducing hallucination rates, enhancing resistance to prompt injection attacks, and improving the ability to reject harmful requests, thus boosting its reliability for enterprises and developers seeking a balance between performance, security, and cost efficiency in AI applications.
