CNN reporter Anna Stewart tests the sold-out shoes that Nike says can change how people feel when wearing them.

Nike used to focus on helping you run faster, jump higher, with its 'Just Do It' slogan. Now, it has entered the wearable neural device market with the Nike Mind shoes designed to enhance mental focus and reduce stress.

Nike says these shoes reduce activity in the part of the brain responsible for mind wandering. The 22 sponge-like nodes in each shoe are supposed to stimulate sensory nerves in the feet.

Nike is struggling in the highly competitive sportswear and athleisure market, with its shares down 74% over the past five years. It may be losing its foothold on our feet, but now it's trying to reach our minds through wearable technology, or perhaps we should call it wearable wellness tech.

Stewart said of her experience wearing the Nike Mind shoes that they are 'comfortable but a bit warm.' As for the mental state they are supposed to change, she explained: 'I don't even know how to measure that, but... my mind was almost 100% occupied with the fact that I'm wearing these shoes.'
