Today, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, launched the Digital Field Schools Project, which aims to transform traditional agricultural education and extension into a comprehensive digital system, enabling small-scale farmers, both men and women, and those interested in the agricultural sector to access knowledge and training through smart applications, thereby contributing to enhancing food security, supporting sustainable agricultural development, and achieving the goals of Vision 2030.

The project includes the creation of an interactive educational platform and smart applications to enhance food security and promote a culture of sustainable agriculture, in addition to training on agricultural practices to achieve production efficiency and preserve natural resources.

The project comes in response to challenges related to geographical distance and difficulty in accessing agricultural extension services, as it provides greater flexibility in communication and access to information, while making the most of the available digital infrastructure.

The project's implementation methodology is based on establishing 39 digital field schools equipped with the latest technologies, developing an integrated digital platform for agricultural extension, conducting field and digital workshops, as well as building strategic partnerships with the private sector, international organizations, and universities, with the aim of producing digital extension content that contributes to improving agricultural practices and enhancing the Kingdom's food security.
