Researchers have identified some lifestyle changes that could add years to a human's life. They have also found proteins and nucleic acids that can be manipulated to protect cells from damage. John Yoon, a radiologist in California, has set aside one million dollars for whoever can curb aging! Meanwhile, Elon Musk has claimed that 'there is a biological factor behind this synchronization in aging.' He predicted that this factor could be identified and modified to extend lifespan. Perhaps the poet Zuhayr ibn Abi Sulma summarized a long life with negative feelings when he said after reaching eighty years of age:

I am weary of life's burdens; whoever lives eighty years, no father for you, becomes bored.

Despite the boredom Zuhayr mentioned, scientists are striving to prove a fantastical idea called 'singularity,' which consists of the convergence of technology and biology. Its implication is that for every year a person lives in their biological life, technology can provide them with two additional years by storing each person's own stem cells, and new organs such as the heart or any other organ except the brain are printed from those cells!

Perhaps the question that comes to mind when reading such scientific fantasies is: How long does a person wish to live? This question may involve existential ideas about life and death, mortality and immortality. But in reality, eternal life would inevitably be boring, due to the monotony and boredom that would accompany it, especially when accompanied by aging, weakness, and loss of some memory if not most or all of it. Moreover, the departure of friends and relatives from this world is a loss that long years of life cannot compensate.

Perhaps we can agree that lifestyle plays a prominent role in maintaining health and slowing aging, not extending lifespan—I mean regarding the type of food. Excessive fats and fried foods drive cells toward aging. On the contrary, consuming honey, fruits, and meat (in moderation) gives the body strength and activity. Some diseases can also be eliminated through a healthy diet, continuous exercise, avoiding pollution and smoking, and striving to breathe clean air.

The point is not the length or shortness of life; it lies in the richness of the years, one's impact and achievements during them, and leaving a good legacy and pleasant memory.
