Huawei is moving to make 20GB RAM a standard option in its upcoming flagship phones, after the Mate 80 RS Ultimate was the only one so far to offer this massive capacity.
The latest leaks indicate that the Pura 90 series will be the first to get this new option, and it may later expand to include other flagship models from the company.
Until last year, the largest RAM capacity Huawei offered in its phones was 16GB, and it was limited to some high-end editions.
But with the launch of the Mate 80 RS Ultimate with 20GB, Huawei began to break this barrier, while the rest of the Mate 80 models remained with 16GB or 12GB RAM only.
Large RAM is not only beneficial for increasing game speed, but also plays a key role in improving multitasking, app loading speed, and overall intensive usage experience.
It also contributes to enhancing CPU and GPU performance, and supports camera sensors for higher efficiency.
Huawei is expected to adopt a strategy of standardizing this option in its flagship phones to enhance chip performance and user experience overall, starting with the Pura 90 and possibly also with the foldable phone Pura X2.
While the current internal storage capacity in most phones is 512GB, Huawei is expected to later standardize the 1TB option as well.
It is worth noting that this step may not stop at 20GB, as some rumors indicate that Huawei is testing a phone with RAM up to 24GB in the future, meaning a continuous increase in performance and multitasking in its flagship phones over the coming years.
