Instagram Halts AI Image Generation Tool

Meta announced it would halt its AI image generation tool on Instagram just days after its launch, following widespread criticism over privacy concerns.

In a statement, the company said the tool was intended to provide a creative way for users to control the use of their open content, but it received feedback indicating the tool did not achieve the desired goal, so it decided to discontinue it.

Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, launched last Tuesday the 'Muse Image' model, the first image generation model from Meta Super Intelligence Labs, which allows users to create and edit images using content available from public Instagram accounts.
