The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) has called on the public to submit their views on the draft (Guide for Licensing Standards for Auditing and Inspection Activities for Processing Personal Data), through the unified electronic platform for public and government agency opinion polls, “Istitlaa”. This step aims to enhance public participation in supporting decision-making regarding the regulation of auditing and inspection activities for processing personal data; thereby contributing to raising the level of compliance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law and its implementing regulations, and enhancing individuals’ trust in services and products that rely on personal data. The guide seeks to establish a clear, consistent, and reliable regulatory framework for governing the licensing of entities authorized by the competent authority to practice auditing and inspection activities and issue inspection reports in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Law. Through this project being opened for consultation, SDAIA aims to encourage entities subject to the scope of application of the Personal Data Protection Law to adopt practices that comply with the provisions of the Law and its implementing regulations and documents issued by the competent authority regarding the application of its provisions, including appropriate safeguards when transferring or disclosing personal data outside the Kingdom, thereby contributing to raising the level of compliance and enhancing trust in the personal data protection system.
