Smart Platform in Saudi Arabia to Predict Risks and Enhance Supply Chain Resilience
Three Packages to Enhance Shipment Control
The platform offers three levels of services, giving companies greater ability to monitor critical shipments and handle any potential disruptions before they occur.
It includes a package that allows tracking shipment routes and predicting arrival times, where FedEx through its Surround system gives priority to operational intervention when any risks appear, in addition to an advanced package that provides dedicated support and proactive round-the-clock monitoring.
The service supports all types of shipments, whether small packages or heavy freight, integrating sensor data and scan operations along with external factors such as weather conditions to assess shipment status and predict any potential disruptions before they affect delivery operations.
Supply Chain Resilience Becomes a Necessity
Nitin Tatiwala, Vice President of Marketing, Customer Experience and Air Network for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa at FedEx, said that the complexity of global supply chains makes the ability to predict disruptions and respond quickly a competitive advantage for companies, especially amid the rapid changes in the global economy.
He added that we seek to provide our customers in the Kingdom with smart, data-driven solutions that enhance operational flexibility and support decision-making, ensuring the continuity of critical shipment movements without interruption.
He explained that combining the network and advanced analytics technologies helps companies manage their operations more efficiently and support their long-term growth plans.
Solutions Targeting Key Sectors
It targets several sectors that rely heavily on the speed and accuracy of transport operations, including healthcare, advanced technology, aviation, manufacturing, and automotive.
It also provides a central dashboard that gives customers near real-time visibility into shipment movements, along with priority in handling and loading operations, support for cold chains, as well as specialized teams working round the clock to monitor shipments and proactively intervene when needed, with customized reports for customers.
Reliance on Data Analytics
The system is based on the capabilities of FedEx Dataworks, the company's specialized arm for analytics and digital innovation, which transforms data from millions of shipments into operational information that helps make faster and more accurate decisions at various stages of transportation.
These capabilities contribute to improving the efficiency of supply chain management, enhancing companies' ability to deal with operational challenges and reducing their impact on shipment movement.
Launch Coincides with Saudi Trade Growth
The launch comes at a time when the Kingdom is experiencing rapid growth in trade movement, as non-oil exports, including re-exports, reached about 97.5 billion Saudi riyals in the last quarter of 2025, recording a growth of 19% compared to the same period in 2024.
Against this growth, the importance of smart logistics solutions in enhancing the reliability of shipping operations and supporting cross-border trade is increasing, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at building a more efficient and flexible logistics sector and consolidating the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub.
