Friday Weather: Thunderstorms and Active Winds in Parts of 7 Regions
The National Center of Meteorology announced the expected weather for today, Friday, in the Kingdom, warning of thunderstorms of varying intensity and active winds in parts of 7 regions.
According to the meteorology statement, the opportunity remains for moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, extending to parts of Makkah region, as well as the southern parts of the Eastern Region, and light rain is not ruled out in parts of Madinah region.
The effect of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues in parts of those regions, as well as in parts of the Eastern and Tabuk regions. Meanwhile, the weather remains hot during the daytime in parts of the Eastern and Riyadh regions.
Red Sea
Surface winds: Northwesterly to westerly at 20-45 km/h on the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northerly at 15-35 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds on the southern part.
Wave height: 1 to 2.5 meters on the northern and central parts, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters, reaching over 2 meters with the formation of rainy thunderclouds on the southern part.
Sea state: Moderate to rough waves on the northern and central parts, and light to moderate waves reaching rough with the formation of rainy thunderclouds on the southern part.
Arabian Gulf
Surface winds: Northwesterly to northeasterly on the northern part, and easterly to northeasterly on the central and southern parts at 13-28 km/h.
Wave height: 0.5 to 1.5 meters.
Sea state: Light waves.
