The Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms announced recording 99 hours of dusty conditions in the region's countries yesterday, Saturday.

The center added, via platform X, that 99 hours of dusty conditions were recorded in the region, including: 35 in Pakistan, 24 in Yemen, 22 in the UAE, 5 in both Jordan and Turkmenistan, 4 in Iran, and 2 hours in both Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, while no hours of dusty conditions were recorded in the rest of the region's countries.

The Kingdom recorded a decline in dust and sand storm rates over the past two years, as dusty conditions decreased by 62% during 2024 and 46% during 2025 compared to the historical average recorded between 2003 and 2023, due to sustainability, afforestation, and desertification control projects in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms in the Kingdom operates under the umbrella of the National Center of Meteorology.
