Al-Jazirah - Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shamlan:

From the cool slopes of Asir, where misty peaks meet the spirit of giving, a story is born that combines the magic of the place with the depth of humanity. There, where rain washes the face of the mountains and fills the atmosphere with captivating purity, you realize that the greatness of homelands is not shaped by nature alone, but is crafted by the hearts of men who dedicated themselves to serving their communities, carrying the burdens of building and development wherever they settled and wherever they traveled.

In the heart of that poetic atmosphere, we had an appointment with a night unlike any other. We visited the notable Sitr bin Abdulaziz Al Rakan, accompanied by a group of friends: Qabalan bin Mohammed Al-Huzaimi, Rashid bin Dhafir Al-Haqbani, and Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Mashal at his tourist residence in the heart of Asir. We thought we would spend a few hours talking about the beauty of the pleasant weather, the warmth of the gathering, and recreation during a well-deserved vacation for a businessman burdened by obligations.

Instead, we found ourselves before a national figure whose joy of relaxation and tranquility of nature could not make him forget the pulse of responsibility, transforming the fraternal gathering in his presence into a beacon of developmental thought whose impact extends beyond the boundaries of the place to reach the heart of Wadi Al-Dawasir.

We breathed in the pleasant breeze of Asir, but the dialogue with the notable Sitr Al Rakan soon flew us toward broader and deeper horizons. From the heart of the proud South, the compass of the conversation turned toward Wadi Al-Dawasir, that ancient valley pulsing with opportunities and the future. Interesting and lengthy dialogues took place between us, in which we deepened our understanding of the concepts of sustainable development, and how the national investor and community figure can be a true and constructive partner in shaping the present and building the future, in harmony with the Kingdom's ambitious vision.

Al Rakan spoke in a tone filled with sincere affection and patriotic zeal for the growth of every inch of this giving homeland. For him, prominence was never just a title, and money was never just numbers in records; rather, he saw them as a trust, a message, and a driving force to develop and elevate local communities.

We exchanged ideas on overcoming developmental obstacles in the Wadi, and it was clear in his speech that he does not view challenges as obstacles, but as promising opportunities awaiting those who knock on their doors with seriousness and sincerity to open through them the doors of goodness and growth for the people of the governorate and future generations.

What distinguishes the thought of the notable Sitr bin Abdulaziz Al Rakan is that it is a thought that does not stop at the boundaries of theorizing or rhetorical wishes; rather, it is a thought immediately translated into tangible reality and tireless work. This was clearly embodied in the review of his wonderful initiative, which he offers as comprehensive and continuous logistical support for the Wadi's development files to accelerate the process of meeting the needs of the residents and stalled or required projects in Wadi Al-Dawasir, between government agencies, bodies, and ministries in the capital.

We left that Asirian evening carrying a doubled appreciation for this man. That session inspired us and confirmed that true citizenship is the continuous passion for building, and that sincere giving recognizes no vacations or distances.
