The National Center of Meteorology expected in its report on today's weather that maximum temperatures will continue to rise in parts of the Eastern Province, while the chance remains for thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, as well as the southern parts of the highlands of the Mecca region.

The report indicated that the impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues in parts of the Mecca and Medina regions.

Red Sea

Surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds ranging between 18 and 38 km/h over the northern and central parts, and may reach 45 km/h toward the Gulf of Aqaba, while it will be northerly to northwesterly at 10-30 km/h over the southern part, with the possibility of exceeding 50 km/h when rainy thunderclouds form.

Wave heights range between half a meter and one and a half meters, and may exceed two meters with the formation of thunderclouds over the southern part. Sea state ranges between light and moderate waves, and may become rough with the formation of rainy thunderclouds.

Arabian Gulf

Surface winds in the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 15-32 km/h over the northern and central parts, and westerly to southwesterly at 10-25 km/h over the southern part.

Wave heights range between half a meter and one and a half meters over the northern and central parts, and between half a meter and one meter over the southern part. Sea state ranges between light and moderate waves in the north and center, and light waves in the south.
