The National Center of Meteorology expected in its weather report today (Friday) that there is still a chance for moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds in parts of the Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, extending to parts of the Makkah region as well as the southern parts of the Eastern region. Light rain is also not ruled out in parts of the Madinah region. The effect of active winds stirring up dust and sand will continue in parts of those regions, as well as in parts of the Eastern and Tabuk regions, while the weather remains hot during the daytime in parts of the Eastern and Riyadh regions. The report indicated that the surface winds over the Red Sea are northwesterly to westerly at a speed of 20 - 45 km/h in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northerly at a speed of 15 - 35 km/h, reaching more than 50 km/h with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part. The wave height ranges from one meter to two and a half meters in the northern and central parts, and from half a meter to one and a half meters, reaching over two meters with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part. The sea condition is moderate to rough in the northern and central parts and light to moderate, becoming rough with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part. In the Arabian Gulf, the surface winds are northwesterly to northeasterly in the northern part and easterly to northeasterly in the central and southern parts at a speed of 13 - 28 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and the sea condition is light.
