Spain is preparing for a third heat wave this summer, starting Tuesday, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in large areas of the country. The Spanish Meteorological Agency explained that the heat wave is caused by a high-pressure system trapping a hot and dry air mass from North Africa, leading to a significant rise in temperatures. The wave is expected to peak on Thursday, with temperatures possibly exceeding 45 degrees Celsius in some areas. The agency warned of high risk levels during daylight hours, especially for people most vulnerable to heat and those working or engaging in outdoor activities. This is the third wave Spain has experienced since the start of summer, after two waves in late June and early July, at a time when the country has recorded its hottest start to summer since records began in 1961.
