The UAE on Friday condemned Iranian attacks that targeted Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, stressing that they constitute a flagrant violation of those countries' sovereignty.
The UAE Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it "strongly condemns the renewed aggressive Iranian attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan with missiles and drones."
It added that those attacks "represent a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the sisterly countries and a threat to their security and stability."
The ministry reiterated "the full solidarity of the UAE with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan, and its support for everything that would preserve their security and stability."
Earlier on Friday, the Bahrain Defence Force, the Qatari Ministry of Defence, and the Kuwaiti and Jordanian armies announced that the air defense systems in the four countries had repelled Iranian aerial attacks.
In the context, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said in a statement that "the air defense systems of the Bahrain Defence Force intercepted and destroyed a number of treacherous Iranian aerial attacks," without providing details.
The Kuwaiti army also said in a post on its account on the American company X platform that "Kuwaiti air defenses are confronting hostile missile and drone attacks following the sinful Iranian aggression."
The Qatari Ministry of Defence announced in a brief statement that it repelled a missile attack targeting the state, while the Qatari Ministry of Interior said in a statement that a child was injured by shrapnel from interception operations of an Iranian missile attack targeting the state.
For its part, the Jordanian army, according to the official Petra news agency, said that air defense systems intercepted and shot down three Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace and were targeting the Kingdom's territory.
This comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, as the United States has been launching strikes on several Iranian areas for days, while Tehran responds by targeting what it says are American targets in the region.
On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that included a ceasefire, and began negotiations mediated by Pakistan and Qatar to end the aggression that the United States and Israel launched against Iran on February 28.
However, US President Donald Trump announced on July 8 the end of the ceasefire against the backdrop of renewed escalation, after Iran, a day earlier, attacked three ships while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, claiming the ships did not comply with the navigation route it had set, prompting Washington to respond by launching attacks on sites inside Iran.
Washington supports the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz on a route different from that set by Iran, which Tehran rejects, stressing that it targets any ship that does not coordinate with it before crossing the strategic strait for global energy supplies.
