Arab League Condemns Flagrant Israeli Aggressions Against Syria

Cairo, June 29 (QNA) - The League of Arab States strongly condemned the flagrant Israeli aggressions and repeated incursions into Syrian territory, the latest of which was the artillery shelling targeting the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa with artillery shells that threatened the safety of civilians, considering it a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and a clear breach of international law.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League, stressed in a statement today that the continuation of these violations by the Israeli occupation forces threatens to ignite the entire region, expand the fronts of conflict, and undermine efforts to restore security and stability, affirming that the terror of force practiced by Israel cannot be accepted by the international community.

He called on the Security Council to assume its responsibility in putting an end to these aggressive practices and to hold Israel to its commitment to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
