Pakistan announced on Wednesday that it maintains its position on readiness to mediate between the United States and Iran following the latest developments in the region.

In a statement by its Foreign Ministry, Pakistan expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions in the region, saying that renewed conflict is not in the interest of any party.

Pakistan called on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that could further undermine regional peace and stability.

It added that there is no alternative to continued engagement, dialogue, and diplomacy to achieve the common goal of peace in the region.

Pakistan urged all parties to fulfill their commitments under the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad, which remains a solid foundation for mutual understanding, respect, and shared prosperity for the region and beyond.
