The President of the African-Asian Media Union issued a decision appointing Dr. Mahdi Abufetim as Vice President of the Union for Asian Affairs. This decision comes in accordance with the Union's bylaws and aims to enhance the Union's role in media work in the Asian continent and activate its offices in various Asian countries. The President of the Union also granted him all necessary powers to carry out his duties according to the Union's regulations and to work towards achieving its goals and expanding its media and developmental activities.

It is worth noting that colleague Dr. Mahdi Abufetim is a Saudi media professional with nearly 40 years of experience in media. He worked for Okaz and Al Riyadh newspapers, served as the office director of the UAE's Al Bayan newspaper in Riyadh, worked for Al Akhbariya channel, and represented several international channels such as BBC, CNN, Al Hurra, and Future TV. He also contributed to the establishment of many satellite channels in Dubai Media City. He worked as a lecturer and conducted numerous seminars and workshops. Dr. Abufetim holds a PhD from the University of North London, a Master's degree from Bournemouth University in the UK, and a Bachelor's degree from King Saud University in Riyadh.
