Landslide kills 8 in southwest China

Beijing, July 17 (QNA) - Eight people died in a landslide that hit Chongqing municipality in southwest China today.
Local authorities reported that 10 people died and 34 others went missing after a landslide caused by rainfall along a section of the Wujiang River in Chongqing municipality in southwest China, noting that 10 people were rescued in the incident.
It added that search and rescue operations are still underway for other missing persons.
Earlier today, Chongqing municipal authorities announced that a landslide buried an unspecified number of homes and trapped a number of citizens.
