The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month rose to 5,346, according to the head of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.

The number of injured remained at 16,740, according to an official statistic. In La Guaira, about 20,000 people are still living in temporary camps set up in sports fields, public squares, and on sidewalks.
