Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received on Monday leaders and officials who offered condolences on the death of his father, former Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, a day after his funeral in Doha.

The Qatar News Agency (QNA) said the Emir of the country received at the Lusail Palace Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

He also received members of the ruling family, ministers, dignitaries, citizens, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar, who offered condolences on the death of the father Emir.

On Sunday, Qatar bid farewell to the body of former Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani at Lusail Cemetery, with the participation of the Emir, members of the ruling family, and senior officials.

The Amiri Diwan announced on Sunday morning the death of the former Emir at the age of 74.

The former Emir assumed power in Qatar in 1995, before handing over power on June 25, 2013 to his then-crown prince, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
