Funeral prayer performed for the body of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa.. Emir of Qatar leads mourners
The Qatari Amiri Diwan announced the death of the Father Emir this morning, 27 Muharram 1448 AH corresponding to July 12, 2026, at the age of 74.
The Amiri Diwan clarified that Sheikh Tamim will receive condolences from leaders of countries, the ruling family, dignitaries, and citizens at Lusail Palace on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
The Amiri Diwan declared public mourning across all of Qatar for four days starting today on the death of the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
