German Foreign Minister Calls for Expanding Cooperation with Morocco
Berlin, April 30 (QNA) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called for expanding his country's relations with Morocco, describing Rabat as an important bridge between the European and African continents and a key partner for Germany. The German Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Wadephul affirmed that times of uncertainty and geopolitical tensions have prompted Berlin to strengthen and intensify its exchange with its partners, noting that Morocco is Germany's second-largest trading partner in Africa, and that economic relations between the two sides have additional growth potential. He explained that Morocco plays a leading role in Africa in the fields of solar and wind energy, which enhances its position as a strategic partner in sustainable energy. Wadephul began an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on the occasion of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, which is held periodically every two years at the level of foreign ministers and addresses a number of bilateral and international issues. He pointed out that Germany and Morocco share the goal of stabilizing the Sahel region, which contributes to reducing the causes of crises and migration there.
