At least 28 people died in a fire that broke out in a factory in Jinjiang, Fujian Province, southeast China.
The Xinhua News Agency reported that 239 people were in the factory when the fire broke out, and 213 were evacuated. Two of them died after being taken to hospital, and 26 others were confirmed dead who had been previously reported missing at the scene.

A fire department official told China Central Television that firefighting and rescue efforts are ongoing, although most of the flames have been contained.
