Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Gharib Abadi, announced that 'the United States has violated all its commitments stipulated in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding', affirming that 'Tehran has in turn suspended the implementation of all its commitments under the memorandum', and stressing that 'the current priority is the resolute defense of the homeland'.

Abadi said, in statements carried by Iran's Tasnim news agency, that 'the United States has violated all its commitments within the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and has suspended them all, and we too have suspended our commitments and are not implementing them, and we are busy defending the homeland'.

He added that 'our approach at present is the resolute defense of the homeland'.

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister explained that his country was in the negotiation phase, but he said that 'the Americans themselves violated their commitments under the memorandum of understanding and committed these aggressive acts'.
