A group of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday, under the protection of Israeli police.

The Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and chanted provocative songs and slogans inside its courtyards.

The governorate posted a video on its Facebook page showing dozens of settlers gathered in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, chanting provocative songs and slogans.

This comes amid escalating Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs reported in a statement issued Sunday that occupation forces stormed the mosque 26 times during the past June.

According to the report, 4,212 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Magharibah Gate during the morning and evening incursions, under the protection of Israeli forces.
