Jordan on Thursday sent a new humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon, the tenth of its kind since last March, with local and international coordination and facilitation from the Syrian side.

The Hashemite Charity Organization (official) said in a statement that the convoy was sent in cooperation with the Jordanian army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and international partners.

It added that the convoy includes 26 trucks loaded with relief, food, and medical supplies, prepared and dispatched as part of Jordan's ongoing efforts to 'support the brothers in Lebanon.'

The organization quoted its Secretary-General Hussein al-Shibli as saying that Jordan continues to stand by the Lebanese 'in various circumstances, contributing to alleviating living burdens and meeting the humanitarian needs of the affected and most vulnerable groups, and supporting vital sectors.'

According to the organization's statement, the total number of trucks sent by Jordan to Lebanon in the ten convoys reached 197, carrying food, medical, and relief aid, hygiene materials, tents, and two mobile bakeries.

The organization expressed its 'appreciation and thanks to the Syrian authorities for their efforts in facilitating the passage of the convoy and the humanitarian convoys that were dispatched to Lebanon during the past period.'

Jordan has been sending humanitarian aid convoys to Lebanon since last March 11, following the start of the expanded Israeli offensive on the country on March 2, which resulted in the deaths of 3,073 people and injuries to 9,362 others, in addition to the displacement of more than one million people, according to official Lebanese data.
